TEDxVermilionStreet Returning to Lafayette, LA in 2016.

TEDxVermilionStreet will take place on Saturday September 10, 2016 at the Acadiana Center for the Arts (101 W Vermilion Street, Lafayette, Louisiana) from 1:00pm to 5:30pm. The independently organized event, licensed by TED, will feature a combination of local voices and TEDTalks videos.

Launched in 2009, TEDx is a program of locally organized events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience.   Some of the best talks from TEDx events have gone on to be featured on TED.com and gathered millions of views from audiences from across the globe.

In thes pirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
